# Map Lens

Use the map lens to Pinpoint your search results on the Map Lens. It takes location information from your results and plots them directly onto a map. Helping you contextualise and visualise your findings. You can explore the map to see where items are based on their geolocation.

## Accessing the Map Lens

After performing a search, if any of your results have geolocations the map lens will be available. 

1. Select Map from your lenses menu.

### Previewing items

You can preview your results alongside your map or from the results list. For help using the inline preview [see our guides on item previews.](https://docs.aiimi.com/user-guide-release/search/item-preview)

#### From the map

1. Select a pin on the map.
2. Select the result name from the popover.
3. The Inline Preview panel for this item will open next to the map.
4. You can preview a different result by selecting the item name from the list or map popover.&#x20;

### Filtering

### Result list

The results plotted on your map are available within a list that can be opened alongside the map. You can do all the normal result list actions from here.&#x20;

* On the map, select Show list.
  * This will open the results in a list next to the map. Select Hide list to close it.
* Select "Center on map" on an item in the list to see where it is on the map.&#x20;
