Tasks

Tasks give you real-time updates on anything the system is running. For example, if you are exporting some search results as a CSV, that will appear in your tasks list. As new tasks start they are added to your tasks panel for you to keep track of.

The tasks in your task panel will contain a variety of information depending on the task:

  • Task status

    • Creating - The task is waiting for something in the backend to finalise creation.

    • Queued - There is a delay between creating the task and running it.

    • In Progress - The task is running.

    • Completed - The task finished with no errors.

    • Failed - The task was interrupted or finished with errors.

    • Cancelled - The task was cancelled by you or the system.

  • Link to the original search

  • Button to download related files

  • Progress bar for In Progress tasks

  • File count if relevant

  • Who initiated the task and when it completed

Accessing Your Tasks

You can access your tasks by selecting the tasks and assignments menu in the header. Or, you can also see all of your tasks by selecting Show finished tasks.

Deleting Tasks

You are able to delete a task from your list once you are finished with it. For extra security this also deletes any downloadable files related to that task too.

  1. Find the task you want to delete the file for.

  2. Select the delete button.

  3. This will remove the option to download the file from the panel and remove the file from where it is stored too.

Task Expiry

Some tasks have an expiry date to keep your data secure and relevant. When a task expires, any downloadable files are removed from the task and deleted from where it is stored. It is also removed from your tasks list.

For examples, exporting results as a CSV has a default expiry of 1 day.
