User Authentication

• Before getting access to any of the apps or data or content you need to authenticate

• Authentication is the process of proving ‘you are who you say you are’

• Our Insight Engine provides several ways to authenticate users:

  • A form where the user provides their username and password

  • Single sign-on (SSO), where the system already knows who you are

  • As part of the authentication process, we also store all the groups that a user is a member of.

• These groups are used to control what apps users can access, and what data and content they can see
